As a Member of People, Analytics at Anchorage, you will play a critical role in linking our current systems, providing in-depth analysis, and serving as the data scientist for the People Team. You will support the village by defining the future strategy for insights and analytics within the People department. Your role will evolve from a reactive to a proactive approach, initially focusing on providing analysis upon request and participating in ad-hoc projects. Later, you will transition to regularly providing leaders with actionable insights. This shift will help Anchorage anticipate outcomes from all stages of the employee journey and measure the impact of our engagement strategies, ultimately leading to informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
  • Advanced skills in data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong knowledge of People systems (e.g., Lever, Dayforce, Lattice, or similar such as Workday, SAP, BambooHR).
  • Experience with data integration and automation tools.
  • Proficient in Google Sheets or Excel.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with People analytics and metrics.

Complexity and Impact of Work:

  • Address complex data challenges and provide clear, actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by anticipating future trends and outcomes based on historical data.
  • Enhance recruitment, engagement, retention, and performance through data-driven insights.
  • Lead initiatives that improve efficiency and save costs through automation and system integration.
  • Conduct staffing analysis and skills assessments to ensure optimal team composition and skill alignment.
  • Perform equity analysis to identify and address disparities in pay and opportunities across the organization.

Organizational Knowledge:

  • A deep understanding of the company’s people processes, and systems.
  • Knowledge of best practices in People analytics and people management.
  • Awareness of the organizational structure and the impact of data on various departments.
  • Ability to navigate and integrate data from multiple People systems to provide comprehensive insights

Communication and Influence:

  • Communicate complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to various stakeholders.
  • Influence leadership and other departments by providing data-driven recommendations.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions.
  • Regularly present findings and insights to senior leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Craft compelling narratives around data insights to effectively tell the story behind the numbers and drive engagement.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively about complex business problems.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and modeling techniques, such as regression analysis, machine learning, and data mining.
  • Expertise in data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Deep experience with compensation analysis, reporting, and forecasting for both cash and equity-based compensation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly and persuasively communicate complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with People Systems and Infrastructure including Lever, Dayforce, and Lattice.
