In this role, you will
- Join an exceptional team of electrical engineers responsible for the development of electronics for Aurora’s custom hardware
- Collaborate with numerous internal and external teams gathering requirements, defining HW Power architecture, modeling, and delivering electronics that achieve performance and product metrics
- Architect, integrate, test, and debug power electronic circuits on the bench and in systems; leverage software tools and advanced test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers)
- Partner with electrical, mechanical, operations, and validation teams to mature high quality electrical designs to manufacturing; including supporting test infrastructure development to meet product coverage and yield targets
- Leverage expertise in product development (define/build/test), and have extensive prior experience launching product
Required Qualifications
- This role requires a bachelor's degree with a focus in electrical or computer engineering
- 6+ years experience in industry developing complex electrical hardware
- Expertise in power architecture, signal and power integrity design and analysis, high speed signaling, grounding, analog electronics
- High proficiency and ability to analyze systems for balancing electro-mechanical and EMI/EMC constraints
- Extensive experience with hardware productization: system, board and chip level implementation
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals supported by the use of CAD tools to manage PCB layout, leverage Power/Signal simulation/emulation input
- Expertise with lab instruments (Oscilloscopes, Analyzers, DMMs, Power Supplies, and E-loads)
Desirable Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Power Electronics or related discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in power conversion design for automotive or consumer electronics applications, (e.g., battery charging, multi-phase DC-DC regulators etc.).
- Knowledge of system power converter modeling and simulation, electromagnetic modeling, analysis fundamentals, and simulation tools.
- Knowledge of on-board power conversion design for automotive self-driving applications.
- Knowledge of automotive requirements, safety framework (ISO26262) and qualification processes
- Strong hands-on testing and troubleshooting skills
- Programming and Scripting (C++, Python or equivalent) experience
The base salary range for this position is $181,000-$290,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
