We are seeking a Manager, Mapping Programs to lead a team of Program Managers responsible for driving operational rigor across map delivery programs. This role will establish structured Program Management practices that ensure milestones are clearly defined, progress is consistently communicated, and risks are proactively managed.
The ideal candidate excels at organizing a broad range of technical information, building scalable tracking mechanisms, and communicating clearly with stakeholders across various levels and departments. You will coach and develop early-career Program Managers while ensuring programs operate with strong discipline, transparency, and alignment across the organization.
In this role, you will
- Manage a team of early-stage Program Managers (4-5 direct reports) supporting map delivery programs across map expansion, map maintenance, SW testing, and ML model developement
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and structure to help develop strong Program Managers
- Foster a culture of accountability, organization, and operational excellence
- Develop standardized frameworks for managing cross-functional operational programs
- Ensure programs have clearly defined objectives, timelines, dependencies, and success metrics
- Develop dashboards, reporting cadences, and operational reviews to drive visibility and alignment
- Translate complex and technical program updates into clear, concise executive-level communication
- Establish process to proactively identify, track, and mitigate program risks
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, and Analytics teams to resolve issues and maintain program momentum
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in Program Management, Operations Management, or Operational Strategy roles
- 5+ years of experience in managing or mentoring Program or Project Managers
- Strong experience establishing Program Management frameworks including documentation, tracking mechanisms, and stakeholder communication
- Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability or organize complex, technical programs and drive alignment across multiple teams
- Experience managing cross-functional Operational programs with multiple stakeholders
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in mapping, geospatial, ML operations, or autonomous vehicle programs
- Experience working in fast-paced, startup or scaling operational environments
- Familiarity with program tracking tools (Jira, Smartsheet, etc.)
- Experience building Operational dashboards or working with Analytics team to measure program performance
The base salary range for this position is $115K - $165K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
