Job Description Chariot’s Product Engineer will own and scale our frontend architecture and user experience, bringing elegant, performant, and intuitive interfaces to life. You’ll collaborate with product and design to translate complex backend processes into delightful and accessible experiences for nonprofits, DAFs, and their donors. You will work closely with the Chief Product Officer and other Founding Engineers to build out a product that can scale to service some of the most impactful organizations in the world like American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association, Susan G. Komen, UPenn, and more.
The ideal candidate is both forward-thinking and hands-on, has a strong sense of ownership and drive for delivery, and is a good mentor and co-worker. On our team, you’ll have the unique opportunity to apply creative solutions to architect, design, and implement beautiful user experiences to fulfill our mission of helping nonprofits around the world.
Manage and build out the frontend web applications and components that comprise the user-facing Chariot product.
Develop new and improve existing user facing features and products.
Contribute to the architecture of our frontend applications and define best practices.
Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies.
Improve monitoring and alerting capabilities for us to better understand our user behaviors and iterate on our product.
Collaborate closely with CPO on UX/UI and be able to translate Figma mockups into pixel-perfect implementations.
About You
4+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
2+ years of relevant work experience as a frontend application developer building performant and scalable systems.
Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in a technical field, but we understand great engineers come from all sorts of different backgrounds and also consider relevant work experience.
Be highly proficient working with React and TypeScript
Understanding of design systems, spacing, typography, and accessibility and knowledge on how to translate Figma files into clean, maintainable code.
Ability to contribute to backend services and data modeling
Strong sense of responsibility; ability to drive a project from inception to completion.
Experience with design systems, fintech, payments, and the nonprofit-sector is a plus.

Pay Transparency
Range: $130,000-$175,000 + Equity Upside.
