About the Role:

This role is a crucial part of the Quality Assurance team by helping to ensure the books are accurate for our members. The role requires weekly reviews of our Accounting Advisors assigned books and following up to ensure all corrections have been made. The role also helps to create QA policies, answer team questions and help educate our team. In addition to QA work, this role has 10 books assigned to do monthly bookkeeping work. This has a schedule of 3am - 12pm PST (PH local time: 7pm to 4am)

Responsibilities

Learning & Team Engagement

• Understand Collective's current processes in Accounting & Payroll and an overview of processes in Onboarding and Tax relating to Quality Assurance. Attends team meetings and participates in group discussions. Conducts training sessions, as assigned,
• Quality assurance (QA) is a systematic review of books and records to ensure reasonable assurance on accuracy and completeness. The role includes but not limited to:
• Full review of members books for accuracy and completeness using developed spreadsheet
• Give feedback to accounting advisors
• Draft bookkeeping quality assurance policies and procedures
• Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures
• Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities
• Collect and compile statistical quality data
• Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
• Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
• Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities

Internal Support

• Work with Accounting Advisors/Managers in Accounting to provide clarification on QA’s, as needed

Bookkeeping

• Update books monthly for assigned Collective members, which includes the following:
• Categorizing transactions
• Reconciling your accounts
• Preparing monthly financial reports
• Ensure payroll and tax documents are accurate
• Closing your books to prepare for taxes
• Reach out to members as necessary to complete bookkeeping tasks. Responds to member questions and requests
