About the role:

In this role, you will work closely with our Senior Tax Associates to handle, prepare, and review all US based tax returns for Collective members.

Responsibilities:

  • Intake, prepare, and manage all aspects of annual US tax returns
  • Ensure all tax deadlines are met
  • Serve as the internal and external point of contact for all tax related inquiries / analyses
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of income taxes for state, and federal jurisdictions
  • Keep up to date with tax legislation as well as any changes, practices and global developments
  • Develop and communicate new tax policies and procedures to cross-functional teams
  • Create additional documentation when necessary, including tax forecasting reports for internal review
  • Interact with other internal organizations to provide tax advice and identify tax planning opportunities
  • Develop and maintain deep technical knowledge in areas of relevance to our clients

What we want you to bring:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with tax seasons, with sole proprietors (1040) and S Corps (1120S)
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • Experience in tax software with UltraTax and Sureprep, preferred
  • Knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts and familiarity with form 1040
  • Detailed working knowledge of tax reporting and accounting requirements, experience with US multi state compliance is a plus
  • Ability to work within a team to assist in preparation of accurate tax returns in a timely manner
  • Provide tax preparation, tax audit support and tax planning year round
  • Build year-round client relationships
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely detail oriented, able to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
