Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that books handled by your team meet required specifications for accuracy, completeness, and tax compliance.
- Interview candidates and onboard new hires.
- Collaborate, coach, and provide real-time feedback to staff.
- Create or update internal procedures for your function.
- Work with other teams and leads to identify the best solutions for members and ensure a smooth workflow, including product testing.
- Be cross-functional leaders focused on longer-term objectives.
- Manage complex programs, identify and implement process improvements for the larger group or organization, and exercise business and technical understanding to drive the organization's long-term objectives.
- Proactively initiate cross-functional projects and processes, make decisions about priorities, drive programs across their product areas, and show leadership and influence across teams.
What we want you to bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role, preferably in a fintech space or startup/fast-paced environment.
- 5+ years of experience managing a team of 10 Accountants
- Strong knowledge of US accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
- Expert in cloud accounting software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Hurdlr)
- Hands-on experience in managing client relationship (inquiries, escalations, etc.)
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor, hire, train and motivate a team.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
