Concourse is building AI agents for corporate finance teams. We have been building at the intersection of finance and AI for the last 2 years and have grown significantly since our launch a few months ago. As growth continues to accelerate, we’re seeking exceptional software engineers to develop backend systems, own integrations, and build from a product perspective. Concourse customers now include public companies as well as high-growth startups from Persona, Instabase, Lightmatter, and more. Concourse is backed by top-tier Silicon Valley Investors Andreessen Horowitz, CRV, Box Group, YC.

The Role

We’re hiring a software engineer to build and scale the core infrastructure that powers our AI agents. You’ll work across APIs, data models, integrations, and backend systems that handle high-volume queries and critical finance workflows.

Your mission is to build reliable, scalable backend systems that enable our AI agents to deliver fast, accurate, and trustworthy results for enterprise customers**.** You’ll develop new features, expand integrations, optimize performance, and contribute to the architecture that supports hundreds of thousands of AI-driven queries per month.

This is a high-impact role for someone who loves building backend systems, enjoys solving complex data and integration challenges, and wants to grow quickly inside a fast-moving startup.

We’re in person 5 days a week in our new NYC HQ in Flatiron, where we collaborate tightly, iterate quickly, and build an environment that’s both high-energy and deeply focused. We believe the best work, and the fastest learnings, happen together.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Core Backend Systems: Develop and maintain backend features, APIs, and business logic that power our AI agents and user-facing applications.
• Own Integrations: Build integrations with ERPs, banks, CRMs, HRIS, payroll, billing systems, and other finance data sources.
• Create ETL Pipelines: Develop and maintain ETL processes that ensure smooth, reliable data flow from external systems into our database.
• Optimize Backend for Scale: Work with the AI team to ensure backend systems support high-volume AI queries with strong performance and reliability.
• Take Ownership of Product Components: Own large areas of the backend with a high degree of autonomy and an ownership mentality.

About You

• 2+ years of backend engineering experience delivering production systems and features
• Strong experience building REST APIs, working with databases, and developing backend services (TypeScript/Node.js preferred)
• Comfortable building integrations, reading API documentation quickly, and connecting disparate systems with urgency
• Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and moving data across siloed systems
• Excellent problem solver who enjoys debugging, prototyping, and thinking creatively through technical challenges
• Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is able to self-direct, move quickly, and operate with high ownership in a startup setting
• Experience with financial systems (ERPs, billing, payroll, or other systems) or fintech products (preferred but not required)
• Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), ETL tools (Fivetran, Airbyte)

• 0-1 Startup experience
• Experience with fintech or enterprise SaaS
