About the role

About Corgi

Corgi is building the first full-stack AI financial infrastructure company. We're rebuilding the $1T+ insurance industry from the ground up rather than brokering someone else's paper. We underwrite, we issue, we own the risk. Backed by Y Combinator, $108M raised, and growing faster than anyone expected.

We're now standing up our own Risk Retention Groups and captive insurance companies.

The Role

You will be Corgi's first in-house actuary. You'll own every actuarial deliverable across our RRG and captive pipeline: feasibility studies, reserving, rate filings, actuarial opinions, reinsurance modeling, and regulatory submissions.

This is a role where you build the actuarial function from zero at a company that is launching multiple insurance entities simultaneously. If that sounds like too much, it probably is. If it sounds like exactly what you've been waiting for, let us know.

What You’ll Do

· Produce feasibility studies for new RRGs and captive entities (we have two live, more in the pipeline).

· Serve as appointed/opining actuary across all Corgi insurance entities.

· Own loss reserving, rate development, and actuarial opinions for multi-line commercial programs.

· Build and maintain pricing models for new lines and new states.

· Interface directly with state regulators (GA OCI, AZ DIFI, and others) on actuarial filings.

· Structure and price reinsurance programs alongside our reinsurance partners.

· Present reserve analyses and financial projections to the board.

· Work with outside counsel and captive managers to ensure actuarial deliverables meet filing deadlines.

Who You Are

· You hold your FCAS or ACAS + MAAA (non-negotiable).

· Experience with captive or RRG feasibility work before.

· You can work across multiple lines of business without a separate team for each.

· You're comfortable being a team of one. You'll have resources, but you will own the actuarial function.

· You move fast.

· You'd rather build something than maintain something.

Nice To Have

· Experience as appointed actuary for an RRG or captive.

· Multi-state regulatory filing experience.

· Reinsurance pricing background.

· Familiarity with Python, R, or modern actuarial tooling.

Why Join?

Ground Floor Ownership. You would be actuary #1 at a company building the next generation of insurance infrastructure.

Immediate Impact. Your first feasibility study ships to a regulator. Everything you build is real and live.

Breadth. Most actuaries wait 20 years to touch so many lines. You'll touch them all in year one.

Compensation

· Base salary: $150,000 - $250,000

· Equity: ~.01% ($120,000)
