Cosmon builds Nexus, an agentic AI product for mechanical engineers that operates inside CAD, CAE, and PLM applications to execute engineering workflows, not just answer questions about them. We work with manufacturers and design teams to remove the specialist bottlenecks that slow down product development. Cosmon is an early-stage, Series A company building its commercial organization from the ground up.

Role Summary

Cosmon is hiring a principal-level technical sales resource to serve as the primary product expert in front of customers, prospects, and channel partners. This person will run live product demonstrations for end users, train reseller and VAR technical teams to sell and support Nexus, and lead demonstrations at customer sites during evaluations and proof-of-concept engagements.

This is a principal-level, front-line role. It requires credibility with practicing mechanical engineers and CAD/CAM/CAE power users, built through direct experience at a major CAD/CAM/CAE vendor. This is not an entry-level applications engineering position: it is a technical authority role that shapes how Cosmon is positioned in the market and how its channel is enabled to sell it.

What You'll Do

• Deliver live, technically credible product demonstrations of Nexus to end-user mechanical engineers, engineering managers, and technical evaluators.
• Lead product demonstrations on-site at customer accounts during evaluations, pilots, and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Train and certify reseller and VAR technical teams on Nexus, including product mechanics, positioning against traditional CAD/CAM/CAE workflows, and objection handling.
• Act as the technical bridge between customer engineering teams and Cosmon's product and engineering organizations, translating field feedback into product requirements.
• Support the sales and partnerships organization through the full evaluation cycle: discovery, technical qualification, demonstration, POC support, and technical close.
• Build and maintain demo environments, reference workflows, and technical proof points across common CAD/CAM/CAE platforms.
• Represent Cosmon at industry events, user group meetings, and partner conferences as a subject matter expert.
• Provide competitive intelligence on CAD/CAM/CAE vendor roadmaps, positioning, and field objections based on direct market experience.

What You'll Bring

Required

• 8+ years of front-line experience at a major CAD/CAM/CAE vendor, such as Dassault Systèmes, SolidWorks, Autodesk, or ANSYS, in a technical sales, solutions engineering, application engineering, or pre-sales role.
• Hands-on, practitioner-level expertise in CAD, CAM, and/or CAE tools, with the ability to speak credibly to design engineers about their daily workflow.
• Proven experience delivering product demonstrations directly to end users, not just to procurement or IT stakeholders.
• Experience training and enabling reseller, VAR, or channel partner technical teams.
• Comfortable leading discussions and running presentations in a room, whether the audience is a single design engineer or a full cross-functional evaluation team.
• Comfort operating in an early-stage company with limited process and a fast-changing product.
• Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites, partner offices, and industry events.

Preferred

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Experience with PLM systems in addition to CAD/CAM/CAE.
• Prior exposure to AI-enabled or agentic software, or experience explaining new technology categories to skeptical technical audiences.
• Experience at a startup or in a first-technical-hire type of commercial role.

Location & Travel

Field-based role. Regular travel to customer sites, reseller/partner locations, and industry events is expected.

Compensation

Base plus variable compensation, commensurate with experience, with an equity component. Specifics provided during the interview process.
