We’re a lean, autonomous, remote engineering team that thrives on creative problem solving, trust, and extreme ownership. At Guide, each engineer manages work from end to end, collaborating closely but independently to punch far above our weight class - talking to customers, influencing the product direction and executing across the stack. The Role

As an engineer at Guide, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape the trajectory of new products from foundational stages through to real customers and revenue. Before joining Guide full time, you’ll have an opportunity to work with us for a full week (paid, of course) to make sure we’re both thrilled about the fit.

What You'll Do

  • Architect, build, and ship meaningful full-stack features rapidly and independently.
  • Explore and leverage cutting-edge AI to amplify team horsepower and productivity.
  • Contribute deeply to product strategy, design, and roadmap decisions.
  • Scale and adapt the product to meet evolving market demands.
  • Operate autonomously in a high-trust, async-first environment.

  • High Agency: Proven ability to own projects and deliver results end-to-end.
  • AI Excellence: Deep experience proactively leveraging modern AI tools.
  • Love for Ambiguity: You thrive when navigating unclear and shifting priorities.
  • Async Communication: Excellent written and proactive communicator.
  • Technical Expertise: Solid foundation in our core tech stack (TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Postgres).
  • Creative Exploration: A passion for exploring new ideas, methodologies, and technologies.
  • Passion for Guide’s mission and values, contributing to a collaborative, high-caliber, and balanced team environment.

The Collaborative Hiring Experience

  • Live Coding Interview: Short technical screen, demonstrating your technical abilities in React and some high-level architecture discussion
  • Technical Deep-Dive: In-depth discussion with the engineering team to design the architecture for a full-stack application.
  • Paid Contract-to-Hire Trial (1-2 Weeks): Direct immersion in real Guide projects, emphasizing autonomy, impact, and communication.
