Fraud Lead
Kalshi
Kalshi is defining a new category
Kalshi has defined a new category: prediction markets. Kalshi allows people to trade on the outcome of any events and turn any question about the future into a financial asset. Kalshi fought for years and legalized prediction markets in the US for the first time in history. Kalshi is currently the fastest growing financial market in America, and has thousands of markets across politics, economics, financials, weather, tech, AI, culture and more.
We believe prediction markets have the potential to be the largest financial market because they turn anything into a financial position.
-
Our vision: well… build the largest financial market on the planet.
-
Our mission: bring more truth to the world through the power of markets.
Building a new category is hard… like really hard. But it’s beautiful and deeply fulfilling. Our culture is simple: we hire really talented people, work really hard, and enjoy the climb. We are looking for ambitious and exceptional people to join our (relatively small) team to help us build the next generation of financial markets.
About the Role
As Fraud Lead, you’ll own Kalshi’s fraud strategy end-to-end: from designing detection systems to leading investigations and long-term prevention initiatives. You’ll work across product, engineering, compliance, and data to build scalable protections against payment and account fraud while keeping the user experience seamless.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring Kalshi can grow safely and responsibly, protecting both users and the integrity of our markets.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement systems to detect and mitigate payment, account, and market manipulation fraud.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate fraud vendors and tools through SDKs and APIs to enhance detection and automation.
- Analyze transactional and behavioral data to identify risk signals and develop automated controls.
- Collaborate with product, compliance, and engineering teams to balance safety, compliance, and UX.
- Lead incident response, investigations, and root-cause analysis of fraud cases.
- Build and manage the fraud roadmap: develop monitoring frameworks, rules engines, and detection models.
- Establish key KPIs (fraud loss rate, false positive rate, time to detection) and report regularly to leadership.
- Partner with growth and product teams to minimize friction for legitimate users while preventing abuse.
- Stay ahead of evolving fraud typologies in fintech, trading, and digital asset ecosystems.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in fraud risk
- Deep understanding of payment methods (ACH, cards, digital wallets) and associated risk vectors.
- Knowledge of AML, KYC, and money movement risk frameworks.
- Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, compliance, and product organizations.
- Analytical and execution-focused mindset: comfortable moving between hands-on investigation and strategic planning.
- Combines strong data skills with the ability to translate complex models into actionable fraud strategies.
- Bonus: experience building fraud systems from scratch or working in a regulated environment
- Bonus: Strong proficiency in SQL and Python with experience in data modeling
- Bonus: expert knowledge about available third party KYC, transaction monitoring, and other vendors and solutions for fighting fraud.
