Our mission at Macro is to increase the world’s operational efficiency.
Operations teams are the driving force behind the world’s most interesting companies. And yet, these teams are so underserved by existing tools that they’re dependent on building custom software or stitching together hard-to-maintain spreadsheets.
We believe there’s another way. Our fundamental idea is that operational design is secretly a form of programming. Pulling on that analogy, Macro is our vision of what an IDE for operations teams might look like.

We're looking for someone who can take the lead on our frontend stack
Our primary technical challenges include:
Handling a large diversity of data structures that arise from a heavy-focus on third party integrations.
Real-time collaborative features. If you have experience with websockets or CRDTs, that’s a big plus.
Document editing, which brings with it a large set of complex UX interactions.
Ideal candidates will:
Be able to provide technical leadership on frontend architecture and set us up for fast iterative product cycles.
Be fundamentally full stack. Although you will spend most of your time working on our frontend, we need folks who are flexible enough to jump into all parts of the stack.
Believe in the power of prototyping. We’re building something fundamentally new and we can’t do that without experimenting. We use prototyping as a major part of our product process.
Be as comfortable in react/redux as you are in vanilla javascript. Our app is built in react/redux, but we’re going to explore territory that will require us to work outside that framework.
Be design-obsessed. We believe that for our space, design is a competitive advantage. We want to work with folks who believe that work should take place in beautiful spaces. Pixels should be perfect.
Have strong intellectual curiosity. We are looking for partners in exploring a world of ideas we are fascinated by: what is the fundamental nature of business processes? What is the future of human work in a world that is increasingly automatable? We want to learn with you.
