What you’ll do
As part of your role, you will:
Hunt new distribution partnership opportunities
Generate your own leads through LinkedIn, cold reach outs, trade shows / conferences, etc
Reach out to leads generated through Mercantile’s lead generation efforts
Nurture relationships
Build strong relationships with potential partners. Do frequent followups to move the relationships forward
Build and maintain your CRM
Build materials & presentations
Build presentations to go over the offering and partnership structure
Work with Mercantile’s finance team to build earnings presentations
Negotiate commercial agreements
Negotiate terms with potential partners
Negotiate card offering with potential partners
Work with counsel to close commercial agreements
Manage partners
Onboard your signed partners
Manage your relationships, strategize to hit certain charge volume and account targets
You could be a fit if you have
5+ years of business development or sales experience
High energy and ambition
Ability to work in fast paced, constantly evolving environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including high-level interactions with internal and external contacts
Friendly demeanor
Exceptional ability to organize work and tasks; attention to detail and excellent follow-through
An interest in cold outreaching (cold call & cold email)
Extra points if you:
Have experience doing sales or business development in a financial institution or fintech
Are a Hubspot wizard
