About the Position
We are looking for an engineering manager to help lead our Product Platform team. This team owns the critical backend abstractions that all products at Parafin are built on - that includes communication platforms, repayment orchestration, support tools, and fraud and safety within lending products. You will be responsible for scaling our backend platform and team as Parafin launches new products and partnerships at high velocity!
What You’ll Be Doing:
Manage and develop a high-performing backend team with a broad impact
Own the technical vision for scaling critical company-wide abstractions at Parafin
Identify and lead cross-functional initiatives for merchant- and lender-facing opportunities

Work closely with stakeholders across the organization, like Finance, Product, Data Science, Legal, Operations, and Customer Success
What We’re Searching For:
2+ years of experience managing a team of at least 5+ engineers
Experience in hiring and team building
Experience scaling backend platforms supporting multiple products
Experience leading company-wide product and infrastructure initiatives for a technical team
You care deeply about building high-quality software and take immense pride in your craft
Strong technical background and a desire to leave things in a better state than you found them
Experience working closely with other engineering teams and cross-functional teams like Finance, Legal, Operations, and Product
Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and retain talented engineers

Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ambiguity, autonomy and ownership
