About Us:

At Parafin, we’re on a mission to grow small businesses.

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, but traditional banks often don’t have their backs. We build tech that makes it simple for small businesses to access the financial tools they need through the platforms they already sell on.

We partner with companies like DoorDash, Amazon, Worldpay, and Mindbody to offer fast and flexible funding, spend management, and savings tools to their small business users via a simple integration. Parafin takes on all the complexity of capital markets, underwriting, servicing, compliance, and customer service for our partners.

We’re a tight-knit team of innovators hailing from Stripe, Square, Plaid, Coinbase, Robinhood, CERN, and more — all united by a passion for building tools that help small businesses succeed. Parafin is backed by prominent venture capitalists including GIC, Notable Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Ribbit Capital, and Thrive Capital. Parafin is a Series C company, and we have raised more than $194M in equity and $340M in debt facilities.

Join us in creating a future where every small business has the financial tools they need.

We’re looking for a Head of Capital Markets to join our leadership team and build the next chapter of Parafin’s capital strategy. This role is critical to our ability to scale — you’ll be responsible for architecting and executing our capital markets strategy, managing key investor relationships, and ensuring we have the most competitive cost of capital and diversified sources of funding in the industry.

What You'll Do:

  • Own and lead Parafin’s capital markets strategy end-to-end, including debt financing, forward flow arrangements, securitization, and other innovative funding structures.

  • Build and manage relationships with institutional investors, banks, warehouse lenders, rating agencies, and capital partners.

  • Negotiate and close financing agreements, driving attractive terms that enable sustainable and profitable growth.

  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Risk, Legal, and Product teams to design scalable funding programs aligned with our embedded finance model.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor funding structures, and investor appetite to anticipate changes and proactively evolve our strategy.

  • Develop capital reporting and performance frameworks, ensuring transparency and trust with all external partners.

  • Represent Parafin externally with capital partners, and internally as a key member of the executive team.

What We're Looking For:

  • 8+ years of experience in capital markets, structured finance, or related roles at a fintech lender, investment bank, asset manager, or similar.

  • A proven track record of raising and managing large-scale debt facilities or forward flow agreements.

  • Deep understanding of structured finance, ABS, warehouse lending, and credit risk in a tech-forward lending environment.

  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to inspire trust with institutional investors and internal stakeholders.

  • Highly analytical and comfortable with credit and portfolio performance data.

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and build from zero to one in a fast-paced, high-growth startup.

  • Passion for small businesses and alignment with Parafin’s mission and values.

  • Deep knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn product constructs relevant to the small business segment.

Bonus:

  • Experience at a high-growth fintech company (e.g., Stripe, Square, Affirm, Klarna,

    Shopify, etc.).

  • Experience structuring facilities in the SMB or embedded finance space.

  • Exposure to buy/sell-side credit risk evaluation and securitization structuring.

Why Parafin:

  • Be part of a mission-driven team transforming access to capital for small businesses.

  • Work with top-tier talent from Stripe, Square, Affirm, Robinhood, Plaid and other leading fintechs.

  • Join a growth stage company backed to the tune of $195M in equity by some of the best investors in the world.

  • Equity grant

  • Medical, dental & vision insurance

  • Unlimited PTO & work from home flexibility

  • Commuter benefits

  • Free lunches
