About the role

Point seeks a Special Servicing Lead to lead a team to resolve events of default leveraging expertise in loss mitigation, bankruptcy, and foreclosure. Will oversee the entire default process, collaborate with subservicers and foreclosure firms, and implement strategies to maximize returns while exploring options for struggling homeowners.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead a team in resolving defaulted Home Equity Investments, applying knowledge of loss mitigation, regulations, and foreclosure processes
  • Develop and manage effective loss mitigation strategies to recover maximum value for investors and explore solutions for borrowers.
  • Collaborate with subservicers and foreclosure firms across the country to navigate complex mortgage default scenarios.
  • Oversee all aspects of special servicing functions, including planning, evaluation, and implementing process improvements.
  • Manage subservicer loss mitigation strategies to ensure alignment with overall portfolio goals.
  • Train new team members on loss mitigation policies and procedures.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends in mortgage servicing.
  • Analyze and solve complex problems related to defaulted mortgages, developing strategic solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to drive collaboration and achieve results.

About you

  • Expertise in Default Resolution: Experience in loss mitigation with senior and junior liens, bankruptcy processes, foreclosure bid process, and REOs is essential.
  • Leadership and Communication: The ability to lead and coach a team, along with strong written and oral communication skills, is crucial for navigating complex situations and driving results.
  • Understanding of Servicing Operations: A strong knowledge of end-to-end default mortgage servicing operations.
  • Problem-solving and Strategic Thinking: The ability to identify and solve complex problems related to defaulted mortgages and develop strategic solutions is vital.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for detail and the ability to create and maintain accurate documentation is essential.
  • Nice-to-Have Experience:
    • Experience working at foreclosure law firms can provide valuable insight into the legal aspects of defaults and foreclosures.
    • Experience working with subservicers dedicated to loss mitigation on a mortgage portfolio demonstrates a strong understanding of collaboration within the mortgage servicing industry.
    • Knowledge of or working with Home Equity Investments or share of appreciation products

Fully paid parental leave

  • Point will true-up wages from state-applicable PFL earnings so that the employee’s total gross pay will be equivalent to 100% of their regular base pay, as well as two weeks of fully paid leave to be available after exhaustion of state PFL.
  • For employees in states without Paid Family Leave, Point will provide up to 8 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • In addition, all employees will receive 4 weeks of fully paid transition time. For four weeks after returning from parental leave, and following the use of all other paid leave benefits, you may work part-time, meaning two or three days per week, and receive 100% of regular base pay.

Compensation at Point will be determined by skills, experience, and geographic location. Point has identified the expected annual base salary range for roles at this level based on market by tiers (Region | Location | Market Range):

  • Tier 1 | San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Los Angeles, & Seattle | $95,200 - 128,800
  • Tier 2 | Chicago, Austin, Denver, Boston, Washington DC, San Diego | $80,800 - 109,200
  • Tier 3 | All other US metro areas | $76,500-103,500

This does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, including equity, benefits, and perks outlined above. At the launch of each position, we benchmark compensation to the appropriate role and level utilizing competitive compensation data from various data sources as references. At the offer stage, we use the signal we received from our interviews coupled with your experience, location, and other job-related factors to determine final compensation.
