About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Director of Product Management to lead the teams driving our customer experience and product-led growth strategies. You’ll define the vision and execution for how customers interact with Point — from acquisition through long-term engagement — and leverage AI-driven opportunities to transform the way we deliver value. You’ll manage and mentor a talented group of PMs, champion customer insight, and collaborate across the organization to deliver delightful, impactful product experiences.

  • Product Strategy: You will be responsible for driving the customer experience strategy across the org, championing a product-led approach. You are eager to unlock the possibilities from AI to improve customer service and conversion.
  • Product Execution: You effectively direct a team of PMs to deliver features from discovery to defining requirements to partnering with engineering on development to launch and adoption.
  • Customer Insight: You evangelize a customer-first approach, leading your team to become the foremost experts on the problems of our customers and those of the internal teams who interact with our customers.
  • Influencing People: Amplify your impact by developing deep relationships with stakeholders and leading company-wide initiatives.
  • Management: Manage a team of product managers, including coaching and mentoring, and ensure that the team is working towards the objectives defined in our company goals.

Your responsibilities

  • Product Strategy
    • Leveraging your ability to use structured thinking to break down complex problems, define and drive the growth and customer experience strategy and roadmap, aligning with company goals and KPIs.
    • Ensure maximum business impact by directing your team to identify and prioritize features and products which improve conversion, efficiency, and reach.
    • Contribute to overall company strategy by bringing product thinking and insights to leadership stakeholders. Lead investments in AI capabilities that allow us to scale our customer touchpoints with a high quality bar.
  • Product Execution
    • Mentor your team to effectively collaborate with engineering through effective processes. Ensure the engineering team clamors to work with you and your team.
    • Drive product delivery by partnering and leading your team to partner with marketing, sales, data, design, and engineering to ideate, launch, and measure growth initiatives.
    • Create a quality-first culture to ensure that your team consistently orchestrates flawless product launches, meeting high quality bars and achieving maximum adoption by internal teams as needed.
  • Customer Insight
    • Lead experimentation programs to open new channels, optimize funnel conversion, deliver an excellent customer experience, and minimize operational friction.
    • Gather insights from internal and external user feedback, web analytics, research, experiments, competitors, and data analysis to understand user needs and synthesize into learnings for the team, and into product plans to deliver on those user needs.
    • Champion UX by partnering with design to build the most intuitive and effective customer experiences.
  • Influencing People
    • Drive stakeholder alignment by (over)communicating and building deep relationships which facilitate trust.
    • Promote the work your team is driving throughout the organization in order to gain buy-in and support.
  • Management
    • Define team goals and monitor progress for direct reports.
    • Mentor, coach, and provide feedback to direct reports to expand the impact and scope of the team overall.

About you

  • 15+ years of experience in product management, and/or management consulting, including 3+ years managing high-performing product teams
  • A strong track record bringing product features to market and inspiring the people who work with you to execute flawlessly against both the long-term product vision and current priorities
  • MBA or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience at a startup preferred
  • Experience bringing an AI-powered feature to market preferred
  • Experience in fintech, B2C e-commerce, and/or real estate preferred
  • Data analysis: A remarkable ability to use data to form a hypothesis and define metrics to determine the success of product initiatives. You use numbers to tell a story. Previous experience with SQL preferred.
  • Strong business operations skills: An impressive ability to think systematically about complex workflows and work cross-functionally to ensure an excellent end-to-end customer experience.
  • User experience design: A masterful ability to think deeply about design decisions and an understanding of how to create simple user interfaces.

Compensation at Point will be determined by skills, experience, and geographic location. Point has identified the expected annual base salary for this role at this level based on the market by tiers (Region | Location | Market Salary):

  • Tier 1 | San Francisco Bay Area, New York, and Seattle | $255,00 - $285,000
  • Tier 2 | Chicago, Austin, Denver, Boston, Washington DC, San Diego, Portland, Sacramento, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara | $230,000 - $255,000
  • Tier 3 | All other US metro areas | $205,000 - $225,000

This does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, including equity, benefits, and perks outlined above. At the launch of each position, we benchmark compensation to the appropriate role and level utilizing competitive compensation data from various data sources as references. At the offer stage, we use the signal we received from our interviews, coupled with your experience, location, and other job-related factors, to determine final compensation.
