Role Description

What You’ll Do

  • Define and evolve a recruiting strategy that supports near-term hiring needs and long-term company growth.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of recruiters and external partners; build a Talent Acquisition function that is highly respected within the organization.
  • Partner with executives, People, and Finance on workforce planning, headcount forecasting, and hiring prioritization.
  • Establish consistent, high-quality hiring standards across interview design, assessment, and decision making; hold team and cross-functional partners accountable to deliver against these goals.
  • Ensure a thoughtful, inclusive, and well-communicated candidate experience across all roles.
  • Strengthen our employer brand, in partnership with Marketing and other internal stakeholders, positioning us as an employer of choice for high-performance candidates.
  • Own recruiting operations, systems, and tooling to ensure scalability and efficiency.
  • Define and track recruiting metrics and share insights to inform leadership decisions.
  • Ensure hiring practices are compliant, equitable, and aligned with compensation philosophy and company values.

What you bring:

  • 8+ years of recruiting experience with a strong foundation in full-cycle recruiting across technical, non-technical, and leadership roles.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a recruiting team in high-growth startup or scale-up environments.
  • Deep recruiting judgment and credibility built through prior hands-on recruiting experience, with a clear point of view on what great hiring looks like.
  • A strong strategic mindset paired with operational rigor and the ability to design recruiting systems that scale.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to influence executives and hiring managers.
  • A data-driven approach to recruiting with strong instincts around which metrics matter most.
  • Experience owning and optimizing ATS platforms such as Greenhouse or Ashby, or comparable tools.
  • A demonstrated commitment to building diverse, high-performing teams through inclusive hiring practices.

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our company’s size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Pomelo Care. In accordance with New York City, Colorado, California, and other applicable laws, Pomelo Care is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $180,000-$215,000. We expect most candidates to fall in the middle of the range. We also believe that your personal needs and preferences should be taken into consideration, so we allow some choice between equity and cash.
