About Us

At Roon, our work began on the patient side. Our team has shipped apps for more than 40 health conditions serving millions of people worldwide. This experience showed us how powerful the right digital tools can be for improving care. It also revealed how much physicians need better support in their own workflows and professional lives.

Roon is now building the digital home for physicians - a trusted community platform where doctors connect, collaborate, and advance clinical knowledge together.

Our team combines deep expertise in tech and health with support from world-class investors including Firstmark, Forerunner, Sequoia, TMV, and SV Angel.

Role Description

We're hiring a Social & Content Lead to shape how physicians discover Roon and how our brand shows up on socials.

Most of our story currently lives inside the platform. We want someone who can take the stories from our community and tell them well, in public, on the platforms where doctors already spend their time.

There are two core parts to the job. The first is owning & growing our social platforms, specifically X (Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn. The second is content and storytelling: writing about our community, our physicians, and the partnerships we build with journals and societies.

Traits We Admire

Boundless Curiosity

You love to learn. You have a thirst for knowledge and constantly seek to expand your understanding of the world. Your curiosity spans a wide range of topics, with a special passion for all things at the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Genuine Care

You bring authentic care to everything you do, valuing each individual’s unique journey. You understand the profound impact that empathy and thoughtful attention can have on people’s lives.

Joyful Excellence

Striving for excellence in your craft fuels you. You hold a high bar for yourself and what you work on but do so in a way that inspires others and brings joy to the process.

Original Thinking

You dig beneath the surface, setting aside trendy thinking to arrive at insights and perspectives rooted in first principles. Your approach brings new, creative perspectives to solving problems.

What You’ll Do

  • Own Our Social Presence: Run X, short-form video on Instagram, and maintain our LinkedIn presence.
  • Develop Our Brand Voice: Build a voice that fits each platform
  • Tell Stories Through Content: Turn what's happening on the platform into video, static, and written content.
  • Own the Good Medicine Podcast: Take our monthly episode from recording to publication. Write the episode copy, pull the clips worth cutting for social, and publish on our Substack.
  • Support Launches: Work alongside the team on launches, journal and society announcements, and community moments, and help shape them into stories worth reading.
  • Test and Learn: Bring a point of view about what's working and why to the team.
  • Who You Are

  • Platform native: You understand that the medical communities on X, Instagram, and LinkedIn are three different subcultures with different norms, and you write differently for each.
  • Strong writer: You can write copy that authentically connects with our audience and cuts through the noise of AI-generated content
  • Multi-format maker: You're comfortable across short-form video, static, written, and audio content.
  • Curious about people: You're good at listening to someone and finding the story in what they tell you
  • Operator: You own things end to end, move quickly, and are comfortable with ambiguity on a small team
  • Interested in medicine: You want to understand this audience. Medical knowledge or experience is a plus, not a requirement
  • Familiar with our design and marketing tech stack or similar tools (Figma, CapCut, Customer.io, Figma, Notion, Google Suite)
  • What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience at a fast-growing health tech startup building the go-to platform for physician peer-to-peer conversation
  • Opportunity to shape our social strategy and brand voice from the beginning.
  • Direct collaboration with company leadership and physician leaders
  • A front-row seat to how modern healthcare communities are built and scaled
  • Apply

  • Timeline: 6-month contract with the possibility to extend.
