Millions of people turn to search engines and social media for medical information, but these platforms can be overwhelming and filled with misinformation. That's why Roon was created. Our interdisciplinary team, comprising of doctors, patients, caregivers, public health experts, designers, engineers, and content creators, has come together to reimagine how people access health information, with trust and expert curation at the forefront.

Today, Roon is a video-based medical Q&A platform, providing trusted answers to health questions. Thousands of experts from top medical institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, Yale, UCSF, Cornell, UPenn, Duke, and Columbia have contributed content and are sharing Roon with their patients.

Work with our CTO and engineering lead on building AI for patients, caregivers and doctors. So far, we’ve built a search engine and an AI agent within a deeply empathetic app that “understands” what patients and caregivers are going through. We still think of that as technology in its infancy. You’ll own MLOps and LLMOps, all our data pipelines, and work with doctors and patient advocates to help craft the future of health information on the Internet, powered by humans and AI.

Search, retrieval, and data aggregation experience for AI models. You’re opinionated about embedding models and RAG pipelines. You’re the kind of person that’s compared the results of vector operations across all the different viable dimensionalities of a Matryoshka model (or at least think that’ll be fun). And you’re persnickety about how we should run evals, because that’s something we’re building right now.

Data science skills and experience with machine learning heuristics. You’re comfortable hanging out in a Jupyter Notebook, think K-Means Clustering and Categorization have become easier over time, and know how to think about batching data. You’re comfortable manipulating big data. You’re familiar with the latest developments in ML, can quickly run experiments, and implement the latest papers.

Data pipelines and ETL ability. You’ll help us scale up data pipelines for doctor workflows and patient-facing medical information, using multiple sources of data.

You'll receive competitive and transparent pay and equity. And if you happen to live in NYC or SF, where the cost of living is generally higher, we'll make pay adjustments accordingly.
