We’ve been growing like crazy over the past year, with exponential month-over-month growth. But a company is only as good as its people, and so we’re looking for a kick ass backend engineer who can join us on this fast-paced journey.

Rupa Health is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead one of our full-stack Engineering teams. This will be a high-visibility team with a significant impact on the company’s bottom line. You will launch new features and products that will enable our internal teams and external third parties via REST API’s, automation systems and internal tools.

Your team will be responsible for building great software across our stack, starting by collaborating with our internal support and operations teams on what to build and why, all the way through to shipping and operating the software that you craft.

Our stack is comprised of React, Django, Postgres on RDS, Redis, RQ, and more running in a HIPAA compliant AWS environment powered by Docker, Terraform and AWS’s Elastic Container Service. We believe in using pragmatic, battle-hardened technologies that are right for the job.

Manage a full-stack team of passionate, dedicated engineers

Own the architecture, development, testing, and operation for a set of features and RESTful API’s used by third parties.

Grow and develop the team by nurturing and coaching engineers and helping them advance in their careers

Work closely with the Product and Design team to develop roadmaps and goals

Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Rupa Health’s engineering management team

Drive process improvements to increase product velocity while simultaneously raising the bar for quality and operational excellence

You have experience managing an engineering team of 6+ engineers and have a track record of shipping critical customer-facing features

You have significant experience hiring engineers at various levels, including Staff Engineers

You have strong technical depth and can participate in as well as influence technical architecture and design discussions

You encourage a healthy work environment that is both supportive and challenging

You thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility

You work very well cross-functionally and can make hard decisions and trade-offs

Bonus points if You’ve managed teams that have built and scaled RESTful API’s

You’ll be joining our all-star core team who have 10+ years experience in the space, have won awards for their biotech research, worked hands on with chronically ill patients, built multiple multi-billion-dollar companies, and much more. The core team comes from Stanford, Wharton, Y Combinator, Parsley Health, Lululemon, Everlywell, Square, Forward, and more. We each have very personal reasons for wanting to transform this space.
