🚀 A little about Rupa - The future is personalized, root-cause healthcare.
Rupa is bringing tools and resources to trailblazing functional medicine practitioners who are practicing medicine in a way that truly helps people get well.
Root cause medicine is revolutionizing healthcare, empowering providers and patients to go beyond treating symptoms and instead approach complex, chronic health conditions with a deep understanding of a personalized, root cause. At Rupa, we are building the infrastructure to make this approach the standard of care for every person on the planet, starting with specialty lab testing. Rupa turns an archaic 15 hour-a-week process into a delightful 15 min task for practitioners ordering specialty lab tests – including DNA, microbiome, advanced fertility, hormonal, and blood labs – for their patients.
The personalized medicine market is expected to reach ~$800B by 2028, providing a huge opportunity for us as a first mover in this space. With a clear mission, strong financial backing, and explosive growth over the past 3 years, our future success depends on our ability to operate cohesively from a clear, forward-looking financial plan.
🤑 The Role - A day in the life of an Assistant Controller at Rupa Health
Imagine… You wake up and brew yourself a steaming cup of coffee (or perhaps a soothing herbal tea).
This is it - today is the Annual Budget Review.
It’s not just about the numbers on the spreadsheet; this is the culmination of meticulous accounting, in-depth analyses, and continuous iteration. You’ve tracked and categorized every dollar that Rupa has spent, worked with each department on their hiring targets and expense forecasts, and analyzed the company’s bottom line and cash runway to ensure we are set up for success.
Today is the day you present your budget to the executive team and walk through multiple planning scenarios. Your command of our financial data - past performance and future projections alike - allows you to identify trends and share insights with confidence. Your input here helps build the alignment needed to advance Rupa’s goals.
This is just another day at the office for you. Month-end close? Revenue modeling? Audit support? Expense controls and approvals? You make managing Rupa Health’s finances look easy.
But it’s not easy. You understand the intricacies of accounting and finance like the back of your hand. You know how to build and interpret financial statements, balance the books, and measure the pulse of the company's financial health. You're not just a numbers person; you're a strategic thinker who can translate financial data into actionable insights.
You know the importance of compliance with financial regulations, and you work tirelessly to ensure Rupa Health adheres to them. You're the go-to person for billing and expense guidance, and your ability to communicate complex financial concepts in simple terms sets you apart.
You understand that working cross-functionally is vital. You collaborate seamlessly with other departments, aligning operational strategies with broader financial goals. Whether it's syncing with marketing to accurately account for our partnerships or working with the product team on measuring feature ROI, you're the linchpin that keeps Rupa Health's finance and accounting operations running smoothly.
It’s not easy, but you make it look easy because, quite frankly, you might just be the greatest Assistant Controller that the world of Root Cause Medicine has ever seen. And this is your opportunity to do some of the most important work of your career.
Because you are the guardian, protecting Rupa Health's financial well-being as it ushers in a new era of Root Cause Medicine.
