The Opportunity
We’re looking for a hands-on Head of Engineering to help us build the best wellness product in the world. You’ll own our technical roadmap, guide architectural decisions, and contribute directly to the codebase while leading and growing a high-performing engineering team. This is a unique opportunity for a true player-coach: someone who loves to build, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is ready to grow a product and a team while stepping into greater levels of leadership and ownership along the way.
How you’ll make an impact
Lead, recruit, and mentor a high-performing engineering team. Build a culture rooted in quality, speed, and trust.
Own our technical architecture and delivery. Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and fast, with a strong foundation in modern tools and best practices.
Actively contribute to the codebase, balancing strategic leadership with day-to-day development.
Partner with Product and Design to translate user needs into elegant, shippable solutions.
Ship fast and iterate faster: our engineering culture values speed, real-world feedback, and continuous improvement.
Make critical architectural decisions and remove blockers for the team.
Champion engineering excellence: code quality, testing, observability, and documentation are second nature to you.
The skillset you’ll need to succeed
10+ years of software engineering experience with 2–5 years in technical leadership roles.
Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment. You know how to operate in ambiguity and prioritize for impact.
A player-coach mindset. You still enjoy coding, building alongside your team, and setting a high bar.
Experience with marketplace platforms or products with a two-sided ecosystem.
Fluency in modern technologies like React, React Native, Next.js, SQL, and AWS. Bonus: PHP 8.x experience and exposure to AI/ML in a real-world context.
Experience with mobile-first development and app performance optimization.
Proven success building and scaling engineering teams and culture from scratch.
Strong communication skills. You can explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
