Sphinx Bio — Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2025)

Our platform builds on recent ML advances to design proteins from scratch, predict protein structure, and create detailed summaries of scientific literature. As a software engineer intern at Sphinx, you will work on our core product and ship user-facing features within the first month of your internship. You will work directly with customers and and be responsible for building software solutions to their problems. You should be excited about building, feel comfortable working fast, and learning from experienced mentors.

From a technical perspective, it’s ok if you have a specific set of skills where you’re stronger, but you should be excited to learn new technologies and grow your skillset. Your main project will be customer facing and could be anything from helping scale our backend to handle massive scale scientific datasets to implementing LLM features.

You will also have the opportunity to learn about the cutting-edge science our customers are performing.

This is a paid 12 week internship onsite in on our San Francisco office. You will be fully embedded into our team and should expect to feel like a full time employee while you are working with us.
