We are looking for an accomplished product leader with deep payments expertise to lead our Core Services organization. As the Director of Product, Core, you will lead a team of Product Managers who are responsible for building and maintaining all shared services at Underdog including all aspects of our payments ecosystem, authentication, authorization, player account management, responsible gaming, wallet, and fraud/AML tools. Our Core team is committed to creating and maintaining resilient, streamlined, and scalable services.

As a gaming industry veteran, you will navigate an ever-changing and highly regulated payments environment building durable, compliant and seamless technology that benefits our users and drives business outcomes. You will partner closely with our Operations, Legal, Fantasy and Sports betting verticals to develop a product strategy, translate it into a roadmap, and drive execution; you will craft the vision of Underdog Core Services that will drive us towards our goal of being the biggest gaming platform in the US.

We seek a candidate who is comfortable leading a large scope and who can seamlessly partner across the organization: with engineers, research, analytics, design, operations, finance, and others. You're an experienced manager who can build and elevate hardworking Product Managers.

What you’ll do:

• The Director of Product, Core will work in close collaboration with the SVP, Product Management, and product team, to define and build core platform features and services, including payments, authentication, authorization, player account management, responsible gaming, wallet, and fraud/AML tools
• Lead and nurture a growing team, supporting their career advancement through mentoring and professional guidance
• Advocate for the payments needs of Underdog users, and develop a vision for the future of payments products and a plan to get there
• Drive OKRs and set critical metrics; clearly define requirements, goals, and success criteria by relentlessly prioritizing and focusing your teams on development that addresses top opportunities which benefit Underdog’s players and our overall business
• Create strong relationships with partners and other parts of the business, to make sure payments and other core services supports Underdog’s overall strategy and success
• Take ownership of vendor evaluation and partnership, ensuring we are well equipped to compete in the sports gaming industry
• Contribute to company-level strategic decisions by highlighting current and future state capabilities of the platform
• Collaborate with Engineering counterparts to ensure delivery of products on time and within budget

Who you are:

• 7+ year of demonstrated experience leading and developing product teams in payments and platform services
• 3+ years of payments experience in sports betting / igaming industry
• Passion for solving sophisticated, payments problems in highly regulated space, developing strategies and roadmaps, and driving plans
• Experience defining product metrics, using them to drive decisions, and pairing that with a sense for how and when to balance data with intuition
• Deep understanding of the general payments industry, and combined with experience in the sports betting domain, abreast on payments regulations and compliance requirements. You are outspoken about payments trends and where payments services are headed
• Natural collaboration and communication skills with a track record of building positive relationships across a broad organization in hyper-growth mode
