This is a remote position.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and highly technical Forward Deployed Engineer to join our team at Unit21. In this role, you will span all aspects of the customer lifecycle - from owning integration discovery and design to working post go-live to help drive adoption. After implementation, you will partner with our Customer Success Managers to ensure customers continue to achieve long-term success with our AML and Fraud platform. The ability to flex from “project focused” implementation to “impact focused” technical overlay will be critical, with time allocation based on current business needs.

Our customer base spans fast-moving fintechs and established financial institutions, giving you exposure to a wide variety of use cases, technical stacks, and operational models.

This is a full-time remote role based on the US East Coast or in London, with travel up to 10%.

What you will be doing:

  • Own the customer implementation lifecycle: discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, integration, configuration, and go-live

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with customer business, operations, risk, and engineering teams

  • Design and manage integrations: APIs, ETL pipelines, data ingestion, schema mapping, and validation

  • Configure the Unit21 platform to support AML and fraud workflows, detection logic, and reporting

  • Troubleshoot technical issues (data, API, configuration, performance) to keep projects on track

  • Deliver training and enablement sessions to ensure successful customer adoption

  • Partner with Customer Success Managers post-implementation to support strategic customer initiatives

  • Relay customer feedback and use cases while partnering Product and Engineering to influence roadmap priorities

  • Occasionally support Sales as a technical subject matter expert in demos and evaluations

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years in solutions engineering, implementation, technical account manager, or forward-deployed engineering roles in SaaS, FinTech, or RegTech

  • Strong technical foundation in:

    • Modern programming languages (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Scala, etc.)

    • APIs, Postman, ETL pipelines, relational databases

    • Stream/batch processing architectures, scalable systems design

  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience working with fintechs and traditional financial institutions strongly preferred

  • Domain knowledge in financial crime prevention, Fraud and AML, a plus

Compensation:

The standard base pay for this role is $140,000 Annually. This base pay range does not include variable compensation including potential commissions, bonuses or other financial or equity incentives.

Unit21 is an equal opportunity employer, we encourage all to apply, even if you do not meet each requirement above. We are building a diverse, inclusive workforce and hope you will join us!

What we can offer you:

  • Competitive salary and pre-IPO stock options

  • 100% company-paid medical, dental and vision insurance (for employee)

  • Optional HSA and FSA medical reimbursement accounts

  • Unlimited paid time off

  • Generous leave programs for life events

  • 401(k)

  • Charity matching

  • Annual Learning & Development stipend

  • One-time Home office set-up stipend

  • Commuter benefits

  • Happy hours and team-building events

  • Great office space in the San Francisco Financial District

  • Fully stocked kitchen

  • Lunch provided in SF office multiple times a week

  • A great company culture with a strong emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion
