We seek an experienced Android engineer to craft intuitive, impactful experiences that solve meaningful user problems and bring the magic of our latest games to life. If you’re driven by user experience, love to ship, and sweat the details, this role is for you.

This job opportunity offers a hybrid work arrangement, and we are specifically seeking candidates who are comfortable with on-site attendance in our Bay Area office 3 times per week (MWF) and are either currently residing in or near the Bay Area or willing to relocate for on-site work.

What you'll do at Volley

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to design and deliver high-quality products on Android
  • Build efficient and reusable mobile components
  • Leverage UI, Compose, and animation expertise to create delightful user experiences
  • Mentor, guide, advocate, and support the career growth of individual contributors
  • Identify areas of improvement and drive mobile best practices
  • Follow data-driven approaches to conduct experiments and iterate features

Stuff you may have done before

  • Owned and delivered complex Android projects
  • Demonstrated technical excellence in fast-paced environments
  • Worked with audio, voice, or emerging technologies
  • Built and maintained reusable Android Ui components

Must-haves

  • 5-7 years of industry experience in Android development
  • Fluency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
  • Experience shipping one or more Android apps
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Passionate about designing and building UX products

Your first 90 days

  • Integrate into Volley’s mobile team and get up to speed with our codebase and culture.
  • Own end-to-end development of larger feature sets or modules, from requirements analysis to production support.
  • Provide regular progress updates to managers and stakeholders.
  • Propose improvements to our technical roadmap and project architecture.

For Pay Transparency: The salary range that we expect to pay for this position is $160,000-$200,000 annually. This is a portion of the pay band for the role and level we are seeking. The final offer amount will depend on experience, education, and skills. Base pay is only one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work
