Your Impact on Our Mission
As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer, you will be the technical leader for the India DevOps team - driving automation, reliability improvements, patching frameworks, CI/CD lifecycle maturity, and secure container image practices. You will set the technical vision, partner across engineering, and elevate operational rigour through tooling, guidance, and high-leverage implementations.
At Zocdoc, we set a high bar of expectations for Staff SRE roles: this position requires deep systems fluency, strong ownership, and the ability to influence across teams without authority. Continuous uptime and efficient incident triage are a must for serving our patients and providers, who depend on our platform for receiving the best quality care for themselves and their loved ones. You’ll play a key role in maturing our patching strategy, cost governance framework, scanning workflows, and infrastructure automation - helping Zocdoc operate a secure, scalable platform that continues to grow in size and scope year after year.

Your day-to-day is…
-
Leading the design of automation frameworks for:
-
OS and container patching
-
CI/CD builder image pipelines and compute provisioning
-
Artifactory and container registry operations
-
Container-based image governance and lifecycle tooling
-
AWS tagging enforcement, cost reporting, and optimisation workflows
-
Acting as a senior responder in the DevOps on-call rotation
-
Partnering with the rest of the Infrastructure and Platform teams to improve and harden shared systems
-
Defining observability, alerting hygiene, and service-quality expectations for Infrastructure-owned systems
-
Driving systemic improvements - reducing manual work, increasing safety, and scaling repeatable workflows
-
Authoring internal standards for image creation, patching cadence, CI/CD hygiene, and cost governance

Mentoring Senior engineers on technical excellence, debugging maturity, and operational rigour

Championing operational readiness and risk-aware execution across all team activities
You’ll be successful in this role if you have…

8+ years operating production infrastructure in cloud-native environments
-
Deep expertise with Linux internals, container lifecycle, CI/CD tooling, and infrastructure automation
-
Strong experience with AWS services, cost governance, and large-scale cloud environments
-
Proficiency with CDK & Terraform or similar IaC tooling
-
Hands-on experience with Artifactory maintenance, security scanning, and image hardening
-
Strong incident response maturity and debugging frameworks
-
A track record of influencing standards, tooling, and engineering culture
-
